Does it come in other weights?

Can it be used for any other exercises?

Absolutely! There are lots of ways to use weighted bags in your fitness program -- in addition to yoga. Womens Health magazine has a guide illustrating just a few examples of Sand Bag Workouts. But once you become more familiar with using yoga bags in your workouts, you'll probably think of many other applications. The weight of sand bags can even be a helpful accessory in meditation.

Is it washable?

Wipeable, yes. Washable, no. Since the fabric has seams, water may seep in if the bags are submerged. However, the bags are presealed at the factory to prevent sand from leaking out or moisture from getting in. Plus, the Ballistic Cordura nylon outer shell is water resistant. When used for yoga or other fitness applications, you shouldn't need to do more than simply wipe down your bag.

Is there a quantity discount or studio price?

Most items are normally shipped the same business day for orders placed before 3PM EST and paid with a credit card without complication. Complications include: addresses that can not be verified, billing information inconsistent with what's on the credit card record, and orders that can't be verified by phone or email. Orders placed during non-business hours such as evenings, weekends, and holidays are normally processed and shipped the following business day. While we make every effort to ship all orders within 1 business day, material back-orders, and other unforeseen circumstances can delay your order up to 5 business days. If a delay is expected beyond 5 days, we will typically send a courtesy email and or phone call to let you know.

Free shipping is available for all products purchased from our website. We reserve the right to utilize the cheapest shipping method available for your order. Most orders ship via USPS Priority Mail which is 2-3 day transit within the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii. Empty sandbags typically ship UPS ground from our property in Las Vegas, NV. Rarely we are unable to ship to remote locations. If your order is deemed too remote to ship to, you will be fully refunded the next business day.

Alaska & Hawaii The Sandbag Store makes every effort to ship sandbags to all Americans, including those living in Alaska and Hawaii. For free shipping, we utilize USPS Priority Mail flat rate shipping. Many of our products (especially larger packs of empty bags) are too bulky to fit inside of flat-rate boxes, and must be shipped via parcel carrier (UPS, FedEx). These bulky orders to Alaska and Hawaii will require additional shipping charges. Our customer service staff will call with your shipping quote, at which point a customer may elect to cancel the order for a full refund, or pay for the added shipping cost.

Expedited UPS Shipping

All products on our website can be expedited shipped via UPS 3 Day Select, UPS 2nd Day Air, or UPS Next Day Air. At checkout, select the expedited shipping method of choice. Orders exceeding 150 lbs. total weight will not automatically calculate shipping rates. Our shipping specialists will contact you via telephone with the added shipping cost to expedite your order after it is placed. Customers may elect to cancel their order with a full refund if they do not want to pay the cost of expedited shipping, or may choose our Free Shipping option (see above).

Pallet Pack Orders

When customers order palletized goods (generally orders exceeding 250 lbs) we will confirm the address is a commercial or industrial address prior to shipping. If the address appears to be non-freight delivery, such as residential, we will contact you for further processing. Residential deliveries, for example, are required to sign our freight delivery agreement before we will ship the order. We assume receiving hours are 8:00 – 16:00 Monday – Friday. If you are unable to receive freight during these times, please contact us or inform us in the comments section of your order the hours you are available for receiving. Free Standard freight shipping in continental U.S. only.

International Orders

International orders valued less than $5,000 are not accepted. Customers expecting to spend $5,000 or more can call our office at (702)202-2459. Since Canada charges us tariffs and duty, orders to Canada ARE considered international orders.

What is the best way to secure (anchor) an outdoor tent canopy?

When stakes are not a viable option for securing a canopy from dangerous winds, people will look to heavy items to tie off too. We have all seen tents tied down to ice chests, wagons, even unoccupied chairs on the beach – with mixed results. When professionals need to setup a tent, they require a more secure and competent-looking approach. Enter: Tent Weights!

\nGravity – always holding us down. In the case of tent weights, that’s a good thing. Adding 40 lbs of weight to each tent leg will effectively hold that tent down on even a gusty day.

You have several tent weight options to consider:

\n1. Bucket of concrete – Easy enough. Go to the hardware store and buy (3-4) 50-pound bags of concrete, 4 plastic 5 gallon buckets, and some long anchor bolts. Mix up the concrete, pour into your buckets and then set the bolts. Once the concrete dries: viola! Tent weights. Expert Tip: find solid black or white buckets. Nothing is uglier than the bright orange or blue buckets with giant hardware store logos surrounding your space.

\n2. Metal Plates designed to fit over the foot and around the leg of your tent and can stack for added weight. Because metal is so heavy, these weights require less space to store and use.

\n3. Water Barrels/Bags. We've seen people use sealed containers to be filled with water at the location they are needed. Instead of hauling around weight or handling sand, a faucet and drain provide the weight. Water is about 1/3 the weight of concrete or sand – so these containers need to be quite large compared to other options.

\n4. Sandbags. Specialty canvas bags filled with sand that attach to each tent leg.

And the Winner is:

Sandbags win when weight is needed as a tool…every….single….time.

In film and video production rigging sandbags hang from overhead structures, tripods, and light stands. In aerospace sandbags are used for precision weight in the laboratory and then as indestructible wheel chocks on the tarmac! Increasingly gyms are setting aside the barbells and lifting sandbags instead.

What about securing things from the wind? Next time you see a road construction sign, or an inflatable bounce house, or a temporary chain link fence, you might notice sandbags holding them down. Professionals always prefer sandbags for portable weights. But why?

\nIt all comes down to force. Heavy things being moved around often, tend to bump into walls, vehicles and other people. When those weights are rigid, such as concrete buckets or metal plates, damage is almost certain. In the best case, only the weight itself is damaged as it is set down. Transporting requires strapping down or otherwise securing the weights which would otherwise break anything they rolled into. Sandbags behave very differently. The material inside can shift and the bag is soft resulting in a malleable weight. No damage in even the most hurried hands. Toss them into the truck or van and go. Unused empty sandbags may be returned with a valid Return Authorization Number (RAN). To obtain a RAN please call our office at (800) 550-1235. Items returned will be eligible for a refund amounting to their order total minus a 10% handling fee and any cost to originally ship the product. Additionally, customers are responsible for the return shipping of the product. We do not provide return shipping labels. Sales of all filled sandbags are final - returns of filled sandbags are not accepted.

If a product is returned for manufacturing or shipping error, customers may elect for a full refund with no additional expense or free replacement.
